Quilted cushions

I bought these lovely panels from New York and decided to make quilted cushions for sale at the craft market.

A friend popped by and fell in love with all of them and decided to buy one. So guess I'd have to replenish my stock for the market.

I cross stitched Paddington bear and his duck before attaching it to the patchwork cushion.

Hearts and Love

Christmas is all about love and God touching people's hearts. So here are some of my projects for the Christmas craft bazaar.

Mixed Media

Went for a workshop in Cork and tried my hand at mixed media. Ruins and monasteries tell me stories. So standing at the alcove of a monastery opens up another world altogether - the great Abbey of Mellifont, in County Louth, was the first Cistercian abbey to be built in Ireland. Founded in 1142 on the orders of Saint Malachy, Archbishop of Armagh, Mellifont Abbey sits on the banks of the River Mattock, some ten km (6 miles) north-west of Drogheda.

Tried my hand at gesso paint and pigments...love the result!

Through the Looking Glass: Alice in Candyland

Isn't it wonderful to doze off under a tree and then fall into a rabbit hole? And then to stumble upon a house all filled with candy. Unlike Hansel and Gretel, the sweets are all mine for the eating with no consequences...except when I step on the weighing scales.

I made use of Autumn-themed papers to construct the box-house. Then fussy cut pictures of irregular sizes. Nothing is to scale, time is upside down:  to emphasise the dream like ambience....

Good things come in pairs

Sitting on the steps of Trinity College, Dublin

Good things come in pairs.  We clap with both hands. Chopsticks come in pairs. A glove, sock or shoe would be quite useless if the matching partner is missing. Even the chinese character of joy when duplicated becomes double joy.

So I have made a number of cards and tags which come in pairs and complement each other.......'
