Cushions galore

With Christmas coming up soon, the desire to decorate the house escalates. New cushion covers will perk up any dull looking sofa.

I was at the Knitting and Stitching Show at RDS, Dublin recently and that was really a crafter's haven.

I came away with some interesting ribbons, so I've used them as embellishments for cushions.

As I count down to Christmas, the candy cane serves as a marker!

Sonya has sewn for me several cross stitch pieces and since I could find no more walls to have them framed and hung up, I decided to make cushions instead.

Now that I've done all the cushions, I must get ready for the craft workshop that I'm conducting next week.......

A Pink Baby Shower

As Themba and Sharon await the great day when the little one arrives, we were all invited to a very lovely and meaningful baby shower.

The house was beautifully decorated with all things pink and there were loads of food....yes....loads of food! The atmosphere was warm and the guests were terribly friendly. I could have sworn that I had just entered a Malaysian home because of the hospitality.

Lots of pink all around the apartment

I made the baby a quilt and her sister an apron.

I hope it fits!

And these are the 25 invitation cards

And officially this is the post with the most number of photos....time to exit.

An apple a day

Never tire of apples I was inspired by the apples that I harvested in summer to make a number of objects for the kitchen.

This is a quilted casserole holder which is a nifty way to carry a casserole of stew to a pot luck dinner. Besides it keeps the food warm too.

This is an absolute must when removing hot stuff from the oven. I got the material from Germany and I thought it would be most appropriate for holding a bowl of piping hot and delicious apple crumble with warm custard.

Even the kitchen tiles, mugs and casserole dish from Nicholas Mosse have apple designs...........
